In this episode, I am joined by special guest Dr. Barry Cooper. Barry is a fourth generation Albertan who was educated at Shawnigan Lake School, the University of British Columbia, and Duke University. He has taught at several Laurentian Canadian universities before coming to the University of Calgary in 1981.

For the past 35 years he has studied western political philosophy, both classical and contemporary. He has published around 200 articles and over 35 books, most recently Paleolithic Politics: The Human Community in Early Art (2020). Earlier this year he and Marco Navarro-Génie published COVID-19: The Politics of a Pandemic Moral Panic. He has received numerous grants from private and public granting agencies in Canada, the United States, France, and Germany including a Konrad Adenauer (ad-en-our) Award and a Killam Research Fellowship and has spent considerable amounts of time in France and Germany teaching and doing research.

For many years, he published a regular column in several Canadian newspapers and has been a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada since 1993.
