Hypothalamic amenorrhea (aka: not having a period), is so much more common than many of us realize. While being lean and fit is a good thing, if women under eat and overexercise for too long, it can have a negative effect in the body in many ways-especially when it comes to our cycle. I have gone through HA twice; the first for 4 years and the second for 10 months. In this episode, I discuss what I did to get my period back each time. I want to caveat this by saying this is my story and I worked closely with my doctor. What worked for me won't necessarily work for you, but you may be able to gain some personal insight.
