What would your life be like if you didn't have to worry about what you ate? What if you knew that everything you bought was made with top quality ingredients and was completely beneficial to your wellbeing? Unfortunately, we do not live in a world governed by these principles and there are foods you need to stop eating, like yesterday.

We do not live in a world where food companies care about what they're feeding us, they don't care about your health, and they do everything they can to mass produce as much "food'' as possible that will keep for weeks, months, and even years on the shelf.

Jamming as much sugar, preservatives, chemical stabilizers, hydrogenated oils, refined carbohydrates, and artificial colours and sweeteners in the products they claim to be healthy, we believe what we are eating is helping us when in reality, it's the very thing that is making us overweight and sick.

As an Eating Psychology Coach and Personal Trainer, I've been studying nutrition for almost 10 years, both personally and formally, and I have literally explored ALL of my options with the way that I have fed myself. I have tried every diet you could imagine, every eating schedule, and cocktail after cocktail of crazy mixtures I would drink at certain times of the day to either "speed up my metabolism" or "detox my body".

Regardless of the macronutrient value of what you're eating, the benefit to one or more of your bodily functions will be severely compromised if you consume processed foods that contain any of the ingredients listed below.

Aspartame

Diet soda has absolutely no nutritional value, and to make matters worse, it typically contains aspartame.

Aspartame is made up of three chemicals: the amino acids aspartic acid and phenylalanine, and methanol. Without going into an obscene amount of detail about these three chemical components, which you can read more about on Dr.Mercolas website in an article entitled How does aspartame damage your brain? aspartame acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain but too much asparate kills certain neurones by allowing an influx of calcium.

"The neural damage that can be caused by excessive aspartate is why Dr. Russell Blaylock refers to them as "excitotoxins." They "excite" or stimulate your neural cells to death," says Dr. Mercola.

When we consume aspartic acid, it raises blood levels of aspartate, which will then lead to an elevated level of those neurotransmitters in particular areas of the brain, where they slowly begin to destroy the neurons. And this is just one of the many dangers of consuming drinks or foods containing aspartame. It is suggested then that diet beverages are even worse then their sugary counterparts, and that's saying a lot!

Here is the list of foods you need to stop eating which I will cover in future blog posts.

High Fructose Corn Syrup

Hydrogenated Oils

Artificial Flavours

Artificial Colours/Dyes

Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)

Preservatives

If you would never consume an ingredient on its own, what makes you think it's ok to consume it just because it sits in a list with other ingredients?
